Choose yarn and knitting needles
Measure head circumference
Cast on stitches
Join in the round if knitting circularly
Knit the brim in rib stitch
Continue knitting the body of the cap
Decrease stitches gradually at the top
Cut the yarn, leaving a tail
Thread the tail through remaining stitches
Pull tight to close the top
Weave in loose ends
Block the cap if needed
