Mark the slab location and dimensions

Excavate the area to the required depth

Remove roots, rocks, and loose soil

Compact the subgrade

Add and compact a gravel or crushed stone base

Set and level form boards

Square the forms and brace them firmly

Install vapor barrier if needed

Place reinforcement such as rebar or wire mesh

Pour the concrete into the forms

Spread the concrete evenly

Screed the surface level

Float the surface to smooth it

Cut control joints at proper intervals

Finish the surface as desired

Let the concrete set before edging or final finishing

Cure the slab by keeping it moist

Remove forms after the concrete gains strength

Seal the slab if desired after curing
