Press the Top button
If your iPad has a Home button, press the Top button or Home button to wake it, then press the Top button to lock it
Enable Auto-Lock in Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock
Use AssistiveTouch and tap Device > Lock Screen
Use Guided Access to keep the iPad locked to one app
Use a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID to secure the iPad when it locks
