Call your veterinarian or an animal poison control hotline immediately
Have ready the dog’s weight, what was eaten, how much, and when it was eaten
Do not induce vomiting if the dog is unconscious, having seizures, having trouble breathing, or acting very weak
Do not induce vomiting if the dog swallowed a sharp object, caustic substance, battery, or petroleum product
Do not use salt, mustard, syrup of ipecac, or other home remedies
Follow only the exact instructions given by a veterinarian
If instructed by a veterinarian, use only the method and dose they provide
Seek emergency veterinary care right away if the dog is in distress
