Gather cardstock, scissors, glue or tape, ruler, and a pencil
Fold a sheet of cardstock in half to make the card base
Draw and cut two parallel slits on the folded edge where the pop-up will go
Push the cut section inward to form a folded pop-up tab
Crease the tab sharply so it folds inside the card
Cut out shapes, messages, or decorations for the pop-up element
Attach the decorations to the pop-up tab with glue or tape
Decorate the front and inside of the card
Close the card and press the folds firmly
Open the card to check that the pop-up stands correctly
