How to Make a SCOBY?

Brew 2 cups of black tea or green tea

Dissolve 2 to 4 tablespoons of sugar in the hot tea

Let the tea cool to room temperature

Pour the cooled tea into a clean glass jar

Add 1/2 cup of plain, unflavored store-bought kombucha with live cultures

Cover the jar with a breathable cloth or coffee filter

Secure the cover with a rubber band

Keep the jar in a warm, dark place

Leave it undisturbed for 1 to 4 weeks

Check for a new SCOBY layer forming on the surface

Use the SCOBY when it is thick enough for your needs
