Choose a clean sock
Gather scissors, glue, markers, buttons, yarn, and fabric scraps
Put the sock on your hand to decide the puppet’s face placement
Mark where the eyes, mouth, and other features will go
Glue or sew on buttons, felt, or googly eyes
Cut and attach yarn or fabric for hair
Draw or stitch a mouth on the toe or heel area
Add eyebrows, nose, ears, or accessories if desired
Let all glued parts dry completely
Put your hand inside the sock and move your fingers to make it talk
