How to Make Candied Oranges?

Wash 2 to 4 oranges thoroughly

Slice oranges into thin rounds or strips

Remove seeds

Bring a pot of water to a boil

Boil the orange slices for 1 to 2 minutes

Drain and repeat blanching 2 more times

Combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan

Heat until the sugar dissolves

Add the orange slices to the syrup

Simmer on low heat until the peels turn translucent

Stir occasionally to prevent sticking

Remove the oranges with a slotted spoon

Place them on a wire rack or parchment paper

Let them dry for several hours or overnight

Toss in granulated sugar if desired

Store in an airtight container
