Fold the fabric edge to the desired hem depth and press it flat
Fold the raw edge under again to hide it and press
Thread a needle with matching thread and knot the end
Insert the needle into the folded hem to hide the knot
Take a small stitch through the folded edge
Move a short distance along the hem
Pick up one or two threads from the main fabric
Bring the needle back into the folded hem
Repeat the same stitch pattern along the edge
Keep stitches small and evenly spaced
Pull the thread gently after each stitch
Tie off the thread securely at the end
Trim any excess thread
