How To Backstitch?

Thread the needle and knot the end of the thread

Bring the needle up through the fabric at the starting point

Insert the needle back into the fabric a short distance behind the starting point

Bring the needle up again a short distance ahead of the first stitch

Insert the needle back into the end of the previous stitch

Repeat the process, overlapping each stitch with the last one

Keep stitches even and close together

Pull the thread snug after each stitch

Finish by tying off the thread securely on the back of the fabric
