Open Instagram
Go to your DM inbox
Open the chat you want to change
Tap the person’s name at the top
Tap Theme
Select a purple theme or color
If available, choose a purple gradient or purple chat color
Go back to the chat to see the change
If you do not see a purple option, update Instagram to the latest version
If it still does not appear, the feature may not be available for your account or device
