Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C)
Grease a baking sheet, oven-safe skillet, or muffin tin
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl
Whisk milk, eggs, and melted butter in another bowl
Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed
Pour or spoon the batter onto the prepared pan or into the muffin tin
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until golden and set
Check for doneness with a toothpick
Remove from the oven and let cool briefly
Serve with syrup, butter, or toppings of choice
