2 cups fresh basil leaves
2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup pine nuts
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Wash and dry the basil leaves
Toast the pine nuts lightly if desired
Add basil, garlic, pine nuts, Parmesan, salt, and pepper to a food processor
Pulse until finely chopped
Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while blending
Blend until smooth or slightly textured
Taste and adjust salt or cheese if needed
Toss with hot cooked pasta
Add reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce
