Drain the canned salmon and remove any bones or skin if desired
Flake the salmon into a bowl
Add 1 to 2 eggs
Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
Add 1 to 2 tablespoons chopped onion
Add salt and black pepper to taste
Add optional seasonings like garlic powder, paprika, or parsley
Mix until combined
Shape the mixture into patties
Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat
Cook the patties for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown
Serve warm
