How To Make Vanilla Paste?

Split 6 vanilla beans lengthwise and scrape out the seeds

Chop the empty pods into small pieces

Combine the seeds and pods with 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Add 2 tablespoons light corn syrup or honey

Add 1 tablespoon vodka or glycerin

Blend or process until thick and paste-like

Scrape down the sides and blend again until evenly mixed

Transfer to a clean airtight jar

Let sit for 1 to 2 weeks, stirring occasionally

Store in a cool, dark place or refrigerate
