Place your index and middle fingers on the inside of your wrist or the side of your neck
Press lightly until you feel your pulse
Count the beats for 15 seconds
Multiply the number by 4 to get beats per minute
Alternatively, count the beats for 30 seconds and multiply by 2
Use a watch or timer to keep track of the time
Rest before measuring for the most accurate result
Repeat the measurement if needed to confirm the result
