Open Instagram and go to the post, story, reel, comment, or message where you want to mention someone
Type the @ symbol followed by the person’s username
Select the correct account from the suggested list
For a story, tap the sticker icon, choose Mention, and enter the username
For a post or reel caption, type @username in the text before sharing
For a comment, type @username and post the comment
For a direct message, type @username if you want to refer to them in the chat
Make sure the username is spelled correctly
Tap Share, Post, or Send after adding the mention
