Open the track’s I/O routing
Set the track MIDI output to the desired device or virtual port
Enable MIDI output monitoring on the track
Arm the track if needed
Open the MIDI device’s input monitor or activity indicator
Use a MIDI monitor plugin on the track
Insert a MIDI logger/monitor JSFX or VST on the track
Route the track’s MIDI to a second track and monitor that track’s input
Use ReaControlMIDI to inspect outgoing MIDI events
Check Preferences > MIDI Devices for enabled outputs
Verify the track is sending on the correct MIDI channel
Confirm the receiving device or virtual port is active
Use a loopback MIDI port to capture and view the outgoing MIDI
Open the MIDI event list in the editor to inspect the data before playback
