Push the cork into the bottle with a wooden spoon handle or similar blunt object
Use a key or sturdy knife to twist into the cork and pull it out carefully
Wrap the bottle neck with a towel and tap the bottom firmly against a wall or shoe until the cork moves out
Use a screw, screwdriver, and pliers to pull the cork out
Heat the bottle neck with warm water to help loosen the cork
Break the bottle neck only as a last resort and with extreme caution
Strain the wine if any cork pieces fall inside
