Choose a healthy, non-flowering rose stem
Cut a 6 to 8 inch section just below a node
Remove the flower and any buds
Remove the lower leaves, leaving 2 to 3 leaves at the top
Make the bottom cut at a 45-degree angle
Dip the cut end in rooting hormone
Fill a pot with moist, well-draining potting mix
Insert the cutting 2 to 3 inches deep
Firm the soil around the cutting
Water lightly
Cover the cutting with a clear plastic bag or dome
Place it in bright, indirect light
Keep the soil moist but not soggy
Remove the cover briefly each day for airflow
Check for root growth after a few weeks
Transplant the cutting once roots are established
