Wash the headlamp lenses with car soap and water
Dry the lenses completely with a microfiber towel
Mask off the paint and trim around the headlights with painter’s tape
Clean the lens with isopropyl alcohol or an automotive prep cleaner
Start sanding with wet sandpaper if the lens is heavily oxidized
Use 1000-grit wet sandpaper first
Continue with 1500-grit wet sandpaper
Finish sanding with 2000-grit or 3000-grit wet sandpaper
Keep the lens and sandpaper wet while sanding
Sand in straight, even motions
Wipe the lens clean between grit changes
Apply a plastic headlight polish or rubbing compound
Buff the lens with a microfiber cloth or foam pad
Repeat polishing until the lens becomes clear
Clean off all residue
Apply a UV sealant or headlight protectant
Let the sealant cure as directed
Reapply UV protection regularly to prevent future haze
