Gather fresh flowers, absorbent paper, heavy books or a flower press, a frame, and acid-free backing
Choose flowers that are dry and in good condition
Trim stems and remove excess leaves
Place flowers between two sheets of absorbent paper
Arrange them flat with space between petals
Close the paper inside a heavy book or flower press
Add more books or weight on top if using a book
Leave flowers to press for 1 to 3 weeks
Check periodically and replace damp paper if needed
Remove flowers carefully once fully dry and flat
Arrange the pressed flowers on acid-free backing
Use tweezers to position delicate pieces
Secure flowers with small dots of glue or archival tape
Place the backing into the frame
Seal the frame to protect the flowers from dust and moisture
Keep the framed flowers out of direct sunlight and humidity
