Place the rack at the foot spot
Put the 1-ball at the apex on the foot spot
Place the 8-ball in the center of the rack
Put one solid and one stripe in the two back corners
Arrange the remaining balls randomly
Press the balls tightly together
Remove any gaps between balls
Keep the rack aligned straight with the table
Lift the rack straight up after racking
