Lie down and elevate your legs above heart level

Drink an oral rehydration solution or electrolyte drink

Tighten your leg, buttock, and abdominal muscles while seated or lying down
Cross your legs and squeeze your thighs together
Wear compression stockings if available
Sip a caffeinated drink if you normally tolerate caffeine
Recheck your blood pressure after 5 to 10 minutes of rest
Seek urgent medical care if you have fainting, chest pain, shortness of breath, confusion, or severe weakness
