Turn off the gas control knob and wait 5 minutes
Check for any gas smell before proceeding
Set the control knob to Pilot
Press and hold the control knob down
Use the igniter or a long lighter to light the pilot
Keep holding the control knob for 30 to 60 seconds
Release the knob and confirm the pilot stays lit
Turn the control knob to On
If the pilot will not stay lit, turn the gas off and contact a qualified technician
