Take the fabric outside and shake off loose mold
Wear gloves and a mask
Brush off dry mold with a soft brush
Wash the fabric in the hottest water safe for the material
Add laundry detergent
Add white vinegar or oxygen bleach if the fabric allows
Soak heavily affected fabric before washing
Scrub stained areas gently with a soft brush
Rinse thoroughly
Dry the fabric in direct sunlight if possible
Repeat the process if mold remains
Discard fabric that is badly damaged or still smells strongly of mold
