Blot up any excess liquid with a clean white cloth
Mix a few drops of mild dish soap with warm water
Dampen a cloth with the solution and blot the stain
Work from the outside of the stain toward the center
Blot with a dry cloth to lift moisture
Repeat with fresh solution if needed
Rinse the area with a cloth dampened with plain water
Blot dry with a clean towel
Sprinkle baking soda over the area to absorb remaining moisture
Vacuum the carpet once fully dry
For stubborn stains, apply a carpet stain remover according to the label
Test any cleaning solution on a hidden area first
Avoid rubbing the stain
Use cold water if the stain is protein-based
Seek professional cleaning if the stain remains set
