Do not pull, pick, or scrub the glue
Keep the area clean and dry
Let the glue peel off naturally over time
Shower gently if allowed by your surgeon
Pat the area dry after washing
Avoid soaking the area in baths, pools, or hot tubs
Do not apply ointments, oils, or lotions unless your surgeon says it is okay
If the glue is on the skin around the incision, a small amount of petroleum jelly may help loosen it only if approved by your surgeon
Trim only loose edges with clean scissors if instructed by your surgeon
Contact your surgeon before trying to remove any stubborn glue
Seek medical care if you notice redness, swelling, warmth, pus, fever, or worsening pain
