How To Replace An Outdoor Spigot?

Turn off the water supply to the spigot

Open the spigot to drain any remaining water

Disconnect the supply line or piping inside the wall

Remove the old spigot from the exterior wall

Clean the mounting area and inspect for damage

Apply plumber’s tape or pipe joint compound to the new spigot threads

Insert and secure the new spigot in place

Reconnect the water supply line or piping

Turn the water back on slowly

Check for leaks at all connections

Tighten fittings if needed

Seal around the exterior opening if necessary
