Turn off the garbage disposal
Unplug the disposal under the sink or switch off the circuit breaker
Locate the reset button on the bottom of the unit
Press the reset button firmly
Wait a few seconds
Restore power to the disposal
Turn on cold water
Test the disposal by switching it on
If it does not reset, check for jams or overloads
If the reset button keeps tripping, contact a plumber or electrician
