Turn off the water supply
Open the shower valve to release any remaining pressure
Cover the drain to prevent losing small parts
Remove the handle cap if present
Unscrew the handle screw using the correct screwdriver or Allen key
Pull the handle straight off the valve stem
Remove the escutcheon plate if needed
Inspect the valve stem and handle adapter for damage
Match the replacement dual shower handle to the existing valve type
Slide the new handle onto the valve stem
Align the handle in the desired position
Tighten the handle screw securely
Reinstall the escutcheon plate if removed
Replace the handle cap if present
Turn the water supply back on
Test the handle for proper operation and leaks
