Clean the male pipe threads
Wrap the tape clockwise around the threads
Start at the end of the threads and leave the first thread exposed
Overlap the tape slightly as you wrap
Use 2 to 4 wraps for most fittings
Press the tape into the threads with your fingers
Screw the fitting together by hand
Tighten with a wrench as needed
Do not use tape on compression fittings
Remove old tape before reapplying if needed
