Put on gloves
Place the auger end into the toilet bowl
Lower the cable into the drain opening
Turn the handle clockwise
Push gently if needed
Keep turning until you feel the clog
Break up or hook the clog with the auger
Pull the cable back slowly
Flush the toilet
Repeat if necessary
Clean and disinfect the auger after use
