Lift the stopper to the open position
Look for a set screw, knob, or lift rod connection
Unscrew or disconnect the lift rod if present
Twist the stopper counterclockwise if it is a screw-in type
Pull the stopper straight up and out
If it resists, wiggle gently while lifting
Remove any debris or hair from the drain opening
Reinstall by reversing the removal steps
