Open Steam and sign in to your account
Go to Steam Support
Select the game, software, or purchase you want refunded
Choose the reason for the refund request
Click Request a refund
Select your refund method if prompted
Submit the request
Check your email or Steam Support for the refund status
Make sure the purchase is within Steam’s refund eligibility window
Make sure the game has been played for less than 2 hours if applicable
