Contact your employer or former employer and ask for a copy of your W-2

Call the IRS at 800-829-1040 if you need help locating tax records
File Form 4852 as a substitute for Form W-2 if you cannot get the form in time to file your return
Keep records of your attempts to obtain the W-2 from your employer
Wait until the IRS has processed employer-reported information, which may take several months after the tax year ends
