How To Reset Acer Notebook?

Back up your files (if possible)

Disconnect all peripherals (USB drives, external monitors, printers)

Plug the notebook into AC power

Press and hold the Power button for 10–15 seconds to fully shut down

Turn the notebook back on

Press and hold the appropriate key repeatedly during startup:

Acer Aspire/Chromebook/Other Acer: press F2 for BIOS

If Windows boots: use Windows Recovery instead

If Windows boots:

Open Settings

Go to System

Select Recovery

Under “Reset this PC,” select Reset PC

Choose one option:

Keep my files

Remove everything

Select Local reinstall or Cloud download (if shown)

Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the reset

If Windows does not boot:

Force shutdown by holding the Power button during startup

Repeat 2–3 times until Windows shows “Preparing Automatic Repair”

Select Troubleshoot

Select Reset this PC

Choose Keep my files or Remove everything

Follow the on-screen prompts

After reset:

Sign in to Windows

Reinstall apps and restore files (if backed up)

Reconnect peripherals only after setup completes
