Leave peaches at room temperature
Place them stem-side down on a counter
Put them in a paper bag
Add a banana or apple to the paper bag
Fold the bag loosely closed
Check them daily for softness and aroma
Separate ripe peaches from unripe ones
Keep them out of direct sunlight
Avoid refrigerating until they are ripe
Handle them gently to prevent bruising
