Press Windows + G to open Xbox Game Bar
Click the Capture widget
Click the Record button or press Windows + Alt + R
Press Windows + Alt + R again to stop recording
Find the video in Videos > Captures
If Xbox Game Bar does not work, open Settings
Go to Gaming > Xbox Game Bar
Turn on Xbox Game Bar
For full-screen or desktop recording, use PowerPoint
Open PowerPoint
Go to Insert > Screen Recording
Select the area to record
Click Record
Click Stop when finished
Save the recording

Open the screen recorder
Select display or window capture
Start recording
Stop recording and save the file
