Wash the griddle with warm water and mild soap before first use
Dry it completely
Turn the griddle on to medium-high heat
Apply a thin, even layer of high-smoke-point oil to the entire cooking surface
Use a paper towel or clean cloth to spread the oil
Let the oil heat until it starts to smoke
Keep heating until the smoke stops
Apply another thin layer of oil
Repeat the heating and oiling process 3 to 5 times
Let the griddle cool slightly between coats if needed
Wipe off any excess oil after the final coat
Cook on the griddle regularly to maintain the seasoning
After each use, scrape off food residue and apply a light coat of oil while warm
