Apply a thin, even layer of cooking oil to the entire surface
Wipe off all excess oil
Heat the pan in the oven or on the stovetop until it begins to smoke lightly
Let the pan cool completely
Repeat the oiling and heating process several times
Use the pan regularly to maintain the seasoning
Avoid soaking the pan in water
Avoid using harsh scrubbers or soap after seasoning
