How To Set Differential Pinion Angle?

Park the vehicle on a level surface and secure it

Support the vehicle at normal ride height

Measure the driveshaft angle

Measure the differential pinion angle

Compare the two angles

Set the pinion angle so it is typically 1 to 3 degrees lower than the driveshaft angle for a single-cardan setup

Set the pinion angle so it is typically parallel to the transmission output shaft for a double-cardan setup

Adjust using shims, control arms, trailing arms, or suspension links as applicable

Recheck all angles after each adjustment

Tighten all fasteners to specification

Verify proper driveline operation after installation
