How To Set Laminate Flooring?

Acclimate the laminate planks in the room for 48 to 72 hours

Clean and level the subfloor

Remove baseboards or trim if needed

Install underlayment if required by the product

Plan the layout and stagger the end joints

Start along the longest straight wall

Place spacers between the planks and the wall

Connect the first row of planks

Cut the last plank in the row to fit

Use the leftover piece to start the next row if appropriate

Lock each new plank into the previous row

Tap joints together gently with a tapping block if needed

Continue row by row across the room

Cut planks to fit around doorways, vents, and corners

Maintain the expansion gap around all edges

Remove spacers after installation

Reinstall baseboards or trim

Install transition strips where flooring meets other surfaces

Clean the floor after installation
