Cut the pocket pieces from fabric
Finish the pocket opening edge
Place pocket pieces right sides together if needed
Stitch the pocket opening or pocket shape as required
Turn the pocket right side out if applicable
Press the seams flat
Position the pocket on the garment
Pin the pocket in place
Stitch around the pocket edges
Reinforce the top corners with backstitching
Trim loose threads
Press the finished pocket
