Select the range of cells that contains the dates
Go to the Data tab
Click Sort A to Z to sort from oldest to newest
Click Sort Z to A to sort from newest to oldest
If prompted, choose Expand the selection
If your dates are in a table, click the filter arrow in the date column
Choose Sort Oldest to Newest or Sort Newest to Oldest
If needed, use Custom Sort for more sorting options
Make sure the date cells are formatted as dates, not text
