Check the fuel level and make sure the fuel mix is correct if your model uses a 2-stroke engine
Move to an open outdoor area
Set the stop switch to the ON or RUN position
Engage the choke to the cold-start position if the engine is cold
Press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible in the bulb
Hold the blower firmly on the ground
Pull the starter rope until the engine tries to start
Move the choke to the half-choke or run position
Pull the starter rope again until the engine starts
Briefly squeeze the throttle to let the engine settle into idle
Disengage the choke fully once the engine is running
Let the engine warm up before using the blower
