Rinse the shrimp under cold water
Pat the shrimp dry
Fill a pot with 1 to 2 inches of water
Add a steamer basket to the pot
Bring the water to a boil
Place the shrimp in the steamer basket
Cover the pot with a lid
Steam the shrimp for 2 to 4 minutes
Cook until the shrimp turn pink and opaque
Remove the shrimp from the pot
Serve immediately
