How To Treat Hand Foot And Mouth Disease?
Rest
Drink plenty of fluids
Use acetaminophen or ibuprofen for fever or pain as directed
Avoid aspirin in children
Eat soft, bland foods if mouth sores make swallowing painful
Avoid acidic, spicy, salty, or hot foods and drinks
Use cold foods or popsicles to soothe mouth pain
Wash hands often
Keep the child home from school or daycare until fever is gone and blisters have dried
Avoid close contact with others while contagious
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and toys
Seek medical care if symptoms are severe, dehydration occurs, or the person is very young, pregnant, or immunocompromised
