Wash your hands before handling the pacifier
Check the pacifier for cracks, tears, or damage and discard if damaged
Clean the pacifier with warm water and mild soap
Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap
Boil the pacifier in water for 5 minutes if the manufacturer allows it
Use a steam sterilizer according to the manufacturer’s instructions
Use a microwave sterilizer bag or container if approved for the pacifier
Use a dishwasher only if the pacifier is labeled dishwasher-safe
Allow the pacifier to cool completely before giving it to a child
Store the sterilized pacifier in a clean, covered container
Re-sterilize pacifiers regularly, especially for newborns or after illness
