Turn off the heat source if it is safe to do so
Do not move the pan
Do not use water
Do not use flour, sugar, or baking powder
Smother the flames with a metal lid or baking sheet
Slide the lid on carefully and keep it in place
Turn off the burner
If available, use a Class K or ABC fire extinguisher
Evacuate if the fire grows or spreads
Call emergency services if you cannot quickly control the fire
If clothing catches fire, stop, drop, and roll
